Tirzepatide / A care guide

A name. A check. A conversation.

A guide. No directory. No matching service.

Tirzepatide prescribers:
know where to look.

A plain-language guide to finding care. There is no prescriber directory here, and this guide does not match you with a health professional.

Cut paper arcs and folded strips tracing a route across a dark surface.
Start with a name.
Prescriber
The health professional who reviews your health and writes the medicine order, called a prescription.

First, is this a real medicine?

U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) records checked September 26, 2026 list approved products containing tirzepatide (Mounjaro, Zepbound).

The Zepbound label says tirzepatide acts like two hormones from the gut, the part of the body that digests food. Hormones are chemical messages.

These messages tell the brain when you have eaten enough. They also help control blood sugar after eating.

A search result cannot tell you whether it fits your health needs. Bring that question to the person reviewing your health.

Choose a way into the conversation.

Begin with the conversation you can manage today. Keep the prescriber’s name and licence details together.

Ask for a referral.

If you already see a doctor or another health professional, ask them to review your health needs. You can also ask for a referral, meaning a suggestion of whom to see next.

Can we talk about tirzepatide, or can you refer me for that discussion?

Ask a clinic directly.

If starting with an in-person clinic, ask who would review your health. Request that person’s full name, professional title and licence details before paying.

Who would review my health history, and how can I check their licence?

Ask about remote care.

Telehealth is care at a distance, using a screen, the phone or an online form. Ask who would review your health and where you may be during the visit.

U.S. health-department guidance checked September 26, 2026 says state permission to practise is needed for the prescriber. The relevant state is the one the patient is in at the time of the visit.

Use the board record.

The Federation of State Medical Boards says state boards show whether a doctor has a current licence. They also show public records of action taken against a doctor for breaking rules, or formal charges still being considered.

  • Get the doctor’s full name and licence number.
  • Open your state board through the federation’s board links.
  • Check that the doctor you were told about has the name and licence shown in the record.
  • If the person has another professional title, ask which board holds their licence.

Even if the record shows no action against the doctor, it cannot tell you how good their care is. What the record shows varies by state.

Under U.S. rules checked September 26, 2026, giving out a prescription medicine requires a valid prescription.

A page offering to skip the prescription is a reason to leave it.
